Power of attorney for use abroad or in Georgia
A power of attorney made in Georgia for use abroad is translated and notarized, and in most countries also apostilled. A power of attorney made abroad for use in Georgia needs an apostille or legalization from that country, and then a notarized Georgian translation.
Check that names, passport numbers and the exact powers in the translation match the original before you sign or submit it.
Criminal record certificates
A Georgian criminal record certificate is issued by the Public Service Hall and is often needed for work visas, residence permits, adoption and work with children. For use abroad it usually needs an apostille first, then a notarized translation.
- Ask the receiving office how recent the certificate has to be
- Get the apostille before translation, so it is translated too
- Order the translation in the language of the country that asked for it
Contracts and court documents
Contracts, claims and court decisions are translated by translators experienced with legal texts. Defined terms are kept consistent throughout the document, references to laws and articles are kept exact, and numbering and structure follow the original so both versions can be read clause by clause.
