What a notarized translation is
In Georgia a notary does not check the translation itself. The notary confirms the identity and signature of the translator who made it. The translation is then bound to a copy of your document, so the office receiving it sees the original and the translation together.
That is why most offices ask for a notarized translation rather than a plain one: it carries a named, accountable translator and a notary's seal.
- 1You send a photo or scan of the document, or bring it to our office.
- 2A certified translator translates every field, stamp and note.
- 3The translator signs the translation and the notary certifies the signature.
- 4You get a scan by email, and the paper copy at our office or by courier.
- 1Copy of your document
- 2Translation, signed by the translator
- 3Notary’s certification and stamp
- 4Bound and sealed into one document
Which copy the notary works on
Most offices accept a translation bound to a plain copy, so a photo or PDF is enough. Some ask for more, and you pick this when you order:
- Notarization on a copy: send a photo or PDF, no visit needed.
- Notarization on the original: bring the original, the translation is bound to it. Same price as on a copy.
- Notarized copy: bring the original, the notary certifies a copy of it and we translate that copy. Used for documents issued only once, such as marriage certificates.
Not sure which one you need? Ask the office that will receive the document, or send us a message and we will help you choose.
