What we translate
Documents that usually need an apostille
Which documents need one depends on the country that receives them. These are the most common.
- Birth, marriage and divorce certificates
- Diplomas and transcripts
- Criminal record certificates
- Powers of attorney
- Court decisions
- Company registry extracts
- Notarized translations, when the receiving country asks
A Georgian document for use abroad
A document issued in Georgia gets its apostille in Georgia, at the Public Service Hall. The apostille is then translated together with the document.
- 1Get the apostille on the Georgian document at the Public Service Hall.
- 2Send us the document with its apostille. We translate both into the language of the country.
- 3The translator's signature is notarized.
- 4If the receiving country asks for it, put a second apostille on the notarized translation.
Ask the receiving office whether it wants an apostille on the translation as well. Some countries do, many do not.
A foreign document for use in Georgia
An apostille can only be issued in the country that issued the document. It cannot be added in Georgia, so get it before you travel or order it from the issuing country.
- 1Get the apostille (or consular legalization) in the country that issued the document.
- 2Send it to us. We translate the document and its apostille into Georgian.
- 3The translation is notarized in Georgia and ready to submit.
Countries outside the Hague Convention
Countries that are not part of the Apostille Convention use consular legalization instead: the document is certified by the foreign ministry and then by the consulate of the country where it will be used. The translation works the same way, and we translate the legalization stamps too.
