A passport translation in Tbilisi is usually the first document a foreigner needs in Georgia, and the one Georgians most often need abroad. The Public Service Hall, notaries, banks and the migration authorities accept a foreign passport only together with a notarized Georgian translation. Foreign offices ask for the same thing the other way round.

When you need a notarized passport translation
- Public Service Hall: registering a marriage, a company or an individual entrepreneur, or property
- Notary deals: powers of attorney, sale and loan agreements, consents
- Residence permits and other applications to the migration authorities
- Banks: opening an account as a non-resident (each bank sets its own list)
- Abroad: a Georgian passport or ID card for a visa, a university or an employer
What the translator has to get right
The whole data page is translated, not only the name. Three things decide whether an office accepts it.
Names exactly as in the passport
Names keep the Latin spelling printed in the passport itself. If the passport says Giorgi, the translation must not say George. When one application has several documents, all of them must use the same spelling, so send them together.
Every field and stamp
Nationality, date and place of birth, issuing authority, document number, dates of issue and expiry, and any stamps or remarks. The machine-readable lines at the bottom are reproduced as they are.
Dates that cannot be misread
Dates are written out (for example, 5 March 1990), because 05.03 and 03/05 mean different days in different countries.

How notarization works
- You send a photo or scan, or bring the passport to our office.
- A translator translates it and signs the translation.
- A notary certifies the translator's signature, and the translation is bound to a copy of the passport.
- You get a scan by email and collect the paper original, or we send it by courier.
You do not have to leave your passport with us: a clear copy is enough for most offices. If an office wants the notary to certify the copy itself, choose a notarized copy when you order.
Price and turnaround
A passport or ID card counts as one page. Translation from English or Russian costs 22.5 ₾ per page, and the other languages are on our prices page. Notary certification is added on top; the price calculator shows the full total before you order. A passport is usually ready the same day, often within a couple of hours.

- Do I need to come in person?
- No. Send a photo or scan on WhatsApp or through the order form. Only the paper translation has to be collected, and someone else can collect it for you.
- Can you translate a Georgian passport into English or another language?

- Will my name be spelled the way it is in my passport?
- Yes. We copy the Latin spelling from the passport and use it the same way in every document of your order.
- Does a passport translation need an apostille?

- How long is the translation valid?
- The translation itself does not expire, but it is tied to that passport. A renewed passport needs a new translation.
